Don't bug me!!

<-This is small compared to the rest of them :(

So, I've come to the realization that mosqitoes are a different breed here in the delta. And when I say different breed, I mean a cross between a regular mosquito and a humming bird. I'm not kidding. They're TERRIBLE :( I can only think of a few things I hate more than mosquitoes! Grrrrrrr!!!
Off has become my new perfume (obviously, not ever by choice). I wake up, take a shower, and spray myself down with Off bug spray. Numerous times throughout the day, I spray again. And again. And again. Miserable.

Wedding Bells :)

Well, this past weekend was our wedding! Everything went very well. The rehearsal dinner was at Taylor Grocery and was simple with great food and awesome harvest decorations. The ceremony, which was at the Oxford-University United Methodist Church on the square, was beautiful, sweet, short (and to the point). The reception was at the Ole Miss-Oxford Depot and was just wonderful--the decorations were lovely, the food was delicious, the band was awesome! Everything was absolutely perfect!! And.... the rain stopped Saturday around lunch, the clouds disappeared, and the sun came out! Hooray!!!!

I only have a few pictures so far... just the ones people took and tagged me in on facebook. But our photographers took at least 2000, and the proofs should be available soon! I can't wait to see them. :)

Also, while at the reception, a lady came up to me and asked if I wanted to substitute teach some at the private school here that is right down the road from our house. I, of course, said yes! Anyways, she called Sunday and asked if I could come teach her class this Thursday. She teaches the 4 year olds, so I'm excited! Plus it's only until 11:30, which works out great for me! That way I still have the rest of the day to do things around the house and to run errands.

Anywho, I'm so happy that the entire weekend went wonderfully! Julius and I are so extremely blessed, and I'm looking forward to our life together. :)

House: Before & After

Before

After

Big difference, huh? We (I mean the contractors) put a lot of work into completely flipping the house. They did an amazing job!

Although the house is small, it's the perfect starter house for Julius and I. The great room, which is a good half of the house, has vaulted ceilings; the dining area, kitchen area, and living room area all make up the great room. Then we have two bedrooms (1 master and 1 guest/office) and 1 bathroom (I wouldn't mind having 2, but beggars can't be choosers!) It really is the perfect size. I love that I can be in the kitchen and Ju be in the bedroom, and we can still have a conversation without yelling to hear each other. We absolutely love the house! And I cannot wait to move in... in 14 days! Yayyyy! :)

Ellie :)

Meet Ellie... she's the newest member of our family! We rescued her at the end of the road we live on. We have no idea how big she will turn out to be, but she's just so precious now! We've had her for two weeks. And this past Wednesday, I taught her to sit! She's cute and she's smart! :)

She has a very comfortable doggie bed, which is where she normally prefers to lay. However, since she discovered the basket, it's been her new first choice.

Finally Connected...

So... it's been quite a while since I've blogged. Life gets busy when you're merely weeks away from your wedding day! Also, we haven't been very connected to the world wide web--we just got our internet hooked up today. Better late than never!

Since I last blogged, a lot has been going on with me! My last day of work was August 14th (hooray :)! So for the past three weeks, I've been in Charleston-my future hometown (population 2,000... try not to laugh too hard). It's nice though. And although we live on a gravel road, it's very peaceful. Our nearest neighbor is a mile away, and our views are wonderful. We're in the delta (obviously), so you can see for miles. And it's so green--well it was until everyone started cutting their crops. By the end of September, all will be brown... except for our yard, which will look amazingly green. Julius loves the yard. He's put so much effort and heart into it, and he's done a great job. In case you're confused, our yard was nothing but dirt--we planted grass and now have a full yard. Everytime we go outside, Ju comments on how much he loves just looking at the yard! :)

Ok, enough rambling for now I guess. Soon, I'm going to put up some before and after pictures of our house--it's amazing how bad the house looked before (think trees and weeds growing on outside and inside, a dead cat was found in what is now the kitchen, mice.... it was bad. very bad) and how amazing it looks now! Not even like it's the same house!

Oh yeah, our wedding is 14 days from today!!! Hooray, I can't wait!!
